BASTIANICH
Friuli, Italy
The Bastianich winery, founded in 1997, consists of 27 hectares of vineyards. All the vineyards are located in the Colli Orientali del Friuli, in two distinct areas within the DOC zone.
The unique advantage of the Bastianch vineyards lies in the ability to blend wines between dramatically different microclimates. Using grapes from the cooler vineyards to give brightness and acidity to the Cru wines, while blending Cru Vineyard wines into the Vini Orsone wines to give them body and structure.
This sustainability is also reflected in the choice of vine varieties planted, aimed at enhancing the value of native vines such as Friulano, Ribolla Gialla, Refosco dal Peduncolo Rosso and Schioppettino.
The goal of the Bastianich winery is to understand the history and culture of Friuli-Venezia Giulia and to create unique wines that speak of place but, at the same time, show remarkable power and balance.
